September 11th. 15 years on

On the 15th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, we honour the extraordinary bravery of everyday Americans placed in unimaginable circumstances.

Americans like Betty Ann Ong, a flight attendant on American Airlines Flight 11 who called authorities to warn and provide vital information that saved many lives; the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 who fought to subdue the hijackers, bringing the plane down in a field to prevent a populated area from being hit; the firefighters, police, and first-responders in New York who rushed to the aid of those in the World Trade Center, many of whom sacrificed their lives.

Today is both a day to remember those who were lost and to reaffirm the commitment by honouring those memories through service, compassion, and care for each other.
